I posted this on YouTube, from the heart. I just have copy and pasted it everywhere, because I’m one of those “in the moment” sort of people. What I capture in the moment is usually the best thing to express.
So, here we go…
Due to a change in real life - I will be ending my normal streaming schedule. I hate to do this, but things are just not working out for a scheduled bunch of content. What I will continue to do is run POP-UPS when I can, moderate for other people, and create content for my channel when I have the time and energy to do so.
My goal of getting 500 subscribers and maybe get monetized in 2025 just doesn't seem likely via scheduled events and streams. We have to take care of our families and communities and that begins with people immediately around us. Health first. So, I hope you can all understand.
I'll be updating the Authortube Spreadsheet probably less often as well. Maybe once with my admin tasks in the morning. Or it might be a "before bed" task. But I will no longer be making it a priority during the day.
What does that mean for other authortubers? It means if you don't schedule your stream at least a day ahead of time, it may not end up on the listing (unless someone else volunteers to hit the other side of the clock and is approved by Kat). So be aware.
Not everyone cares, and that's fine. So long as no one gets upset over it. After all, handling that is voluntary.
I will continue to take on Blurb-Clients. I can volunteer for ARC reads. I might take on some critique reads or some limited beta reads for friends, but I will no longer offer those as services. My eye has become too sensitive and I just don't have the bandwidth to provide the quality I hold myself to.
I am rearranging things to make my life easier when it comes to the publishing schedule as well. I've wasted way too much time with the serials and extra content, looking for a place for it, in case people want to buy in on subscriptions. What I have found is that it's a time sink and I've not made anything from this.
I already have a Substack account. Therefore, I'll be considering the feasibility of using that instead of hopping from place-to-platform yet again. But it's not a priority.
What is priority? My health, my family and friends, and my main writing goals.
Is that how you spell feasibility? For some reason it looks wrong to my brain. Anyway...
Hope you're having a good day or that your day gets better! Thanks for your patience and support!
Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a crisis and realized you just need to reset your priorities and goals? Do you realize the pressure that comes off once you? You can still manage to do what’s truly important to you while not failing — by setting aside the other goals until you have the time for them. That’s what I just did.
If you’ve had to do the same, sound off! Share this with others that may need to know that resetting, adjusting to the unexpected, and modifying your goals is FINE. It’s not giving up, it’s adapting.
Well said 🥳
